Diversity Day

Image
Today we are celebrating Diversity Day which celebrates the richness of different cultures, encouraging dialogue and understanding between people. The children came to school in clothing that symbolises their identity and brought in artefacts and items that are special to them. In Galaxy class we had a very interesting showcase detailing heritage from Africa, ancestors from Wollaton Hall, members of the Pauline Quirke Academy and Nottingham Forest.

Science Day

Today was our Science open morning where parents could come into school to help out with a practical science lesson. In year 6 we designed and made a protective box for an egg. Taking into consideration the shape of the net, protective wrapping, materials needed to make an effective parachute and the techniques needed to join materials together. We also had to consider the force, drop and weight of the egg. Thank you to all the parents who came and helped out. Here are our final results.
