This week we are writing a newspaper report about the battle scene in Narnia. Today we have been understanding and finding the features that we need to use in our writing.
Today we have participated in a Science afternoon where the children saw lots of experiments and how these relate to real life like: learning why fireworks are different colours; understanding more about acids and alkaline; learning how jet fuel works and understanding electricity. The children asked some fantastic question.
Last week we participated in Spanish day where the children researched about famous Spanish festivals. They then worked collaboratively to create a poster about what they had learned. In the afternoon we had a whole school parade where we showcased our work to the rest of the school.
Today we participated in an Oracy day where we introduced the children to our new Oracy Framework. We started off by collectively agreeing some classroom talking rules; we then discussed what good Oracy looks like in the classroom and what skills we will be learning about. Our lessons were all focused around learning to talk and learning through talk. The children really enjoyed voicing their opinions in a constructive and polite way. We will be using Oracy in most lessons.
