Galaxy class

 Today we participated in an Oracy day where we introduced the children to our new Oracy Framework. We started off by collectively agreeing some classroom talking rules; we then discussed what good Oracy looks like in the classroom and what skills we will be learning about. Our lessons were all focused around learning to talk and learning through talk. The children really enjoyed voicing their opinions in a constructive and polite way. We will be using Oracy in most lessons.

 Today we have visited Nottingham University to take part in a Science activity day. We got to learn about the safety aspects of working in a real laboratory, understand how medicines work within the digestive system, and create a protective coating for our own medicine. We will be using our new knowledge next term when we learn more about the digestive system, blood and the heart.
